Baby Give Back relies upon support agencies to assess the need of their clients to ensure our donations are going where they are needed. We do not provide donations directly to those in need. Research indicates that 1 in 6 children aged under 14 years on the Coast live in poverty – that’s more than 14,000 kids! The people we help may be affected by domestic violence, illness, injury, mental health issues, disability, unemployment and even natural disasters. We have migrants, refugees and asylum seekers in our community needing a helping hand to get their new lives started. We also have those struggling with, or affected by life-controlling addictions; many kids living in foster and emergency care; and women and teen girls with unplanned pregnancies who are living in poverty and/or crisis.

We believe that every baby deserves an equal start. Our mission is to give back to the Gold Coast community by collecting and recycling baby essentials for those in need, in partnership with support agencies. We feel privileged to be able to give our children everything they want and need. Our aim is to share the joy by providing items for those families who are not as lucky. Our organisation was inspired by the incredible work and impact of St Kilda Mums in Melbourne. We are grateful for the support and encouragement they have provided and a continue to provide to us.

Every baby deserves an equal start – couldn’t have been said better. Its simply just that, An innocent child with a future ahead – please help ensure that future is safe and loving.

About Edgar’s Mission

“If we could live happy and healthy lives without harming others, why wouldn’t we?”

Edgar’s Mission Farm Sanctuary is a not-for-profit farm sanctuary with a vision for a humane and just world for all.

Edgar’s Mission is set on 153 peaceable acres near Lancefield, Victoria (Australia), about 60 km north of Melbourne.

We rescue and provide sanctuary to animals in need, currently providing lifelong love and care to over 450 rescued animals.

Through education, outreach, advocacy, community enrichment and farm tours, we encourage people to expand their circle of compassion to include all animals.

Where we began

Edgar’s Mission was founded by Pam Ahern and named after her first rescued pig, Edgar. Edgar Alan Pig, aka ‘the pig who started it all’, sadly passed away shortly after his seventh birthday party in April 2010. Edgar, a gentle giant, touched so many people and was an amazing ambassador for pigs and farmed animals everywhere. He will be missed beyond words – but his mission will continue.

Why do farmed animals need rescuing?

An estimated 500 million ‘food’ or ‘production’ animals in Australia are excluded from the protections of animal welfare legislation.

They endure lives of abject misery in factory farms: barely able to move, they are subjected to acts of cruelty that would be illegal if done to a cat or dog. They live without sunshine, without freedom, without being able to socialise, without hope.

As custodians of this planet, humans have designated some animals ‘friends’ and some animals ‘food’. Yet all animals share the same capacity to suffer, the same need and desire to experience life, and for it to have joy, meaning and purpose.

Edgar’s Mission provides you with a glimpse into a different world – a world of kindness.

Edgars Mission is one of my favourite charities, if you know me well you know I have such a space in my heart for the lives of animals. I have rescued five piggies and two cows on my little 3 acre rescue farm and  I wish I could rescue more but unfortunately i’m at maximum capacity for  how many four legged friends I can have on my three acres.  Edgars mission goes above and beyond to help and rescue lives in need and it would mean the world to me if you could help support their amazing work, help save a precious life.

Donate here to help save a precious life
